This Symposium will be an international forum to debate research and experiences on the application of Information and Communication Technologies in the field of Education, not only in the Ibero-American space -as usual in former editions- but also in the international scenario. Hence, a special session will be reserved for presentations in English.
This is the 8th edition of the International Symposium on Computers in Education that is held alternately in Spain and Portugal. This event already has a recognized trajectory and a well earned prestige. It is a reference forum and a meeting point for research groups, groups of development, users and Institutions.
The Symposium is a forum for the presentation of the latest advances in the fields of Information and Communication Technologies applied to Education. The idea is to gather together different research groups, professionals, and users in order to facilitate the communication among them.

The contributions may be written and presented in any of the following languages:

All papers should be submitted in MS Word or PDF format according to the instructions of Springer's Lecture Notes in Computer Science for Proceedings and other Multiauthor Volumes.

The maximum length of the contributions is 8 pages.
It is a pleasure announcing that, thanks to the efforts of Baltasar Fernandez Manjon, a special issue of JUCS, to be published in june 2007, is going to be dedicated to the Symposium. More information at http://www.jucs.org/ujs/jucs/info/special_issues/in_preparation.html
Organizing Committee is negotiating with Springer a possible book publication after the symposium, which would include include English written extended versions of those papers of particular merit, as has been done in former editions.
Contributions must be written in English in order to be eligible for those publications.
There are also some contacts with other publications so as to publish selected papers in extended versions.
